DESCRIPTION:
Marino Ballena is one of the newest national parks in Costa Rica and is comprised of golden sandy beaches, rocky shorelines, cliffs, islands, mangrove ecosystems, rock and coral reefs. The most prominent land formation found within the park is the Punta Uvita Whale Tail (Punta Uvita Tombolo), a sand bar that extends 1 kilometer into the pacific ocean. During low tide visitors can enjoy a walk out to the Punta Uvita Tombolo where rock reef stretches out forming the shape of a whale tail.

With your naturalist guide your will hike along the beaches, visit the whale tail and observe the wildlife like white face monkeys, scarlet macaws and sloths.

Afterwards you will drive up a little dirt road and enter the rainforest. After only a short hike you will be able to cool off in the famous Uvita Waterfall which even provides a natural water slide.
